History

How we started

Having over 30 years of experience in the Des Moines Area, Larry Pollpeter in February of 1992, founded Two Rivers Glass and Door, Inc. The company started with one old pick-up with a glass rack, his two brothers, integrity and a commitment to deliver quality craftsmanship.  His brother Stan Pollpeter would soon become the company's fabricator.  Through hard work, keeping their promises, and consistently delivering quality, projects steadily came in and soon grew to a point where more glaziers were needed. Help was also needed to project manage the many jobs that Two Rivers was awarded. John, Larry's other brother became the project manager.

The Flood, Moving, Next Generation Leadership

During the floods of 1993, Two Rivers Glass and Door were forced to relocate to West Des Moines. shop and offices. For a time the company was run from John's basement at his home until new offices could be secured. In 1995, Joe Pollpeter, Larry's son, joined the company as a draftsman and later became a project manager.

Growth, Awards, Customer Commitment

The company has grown substantially since 1992, and now employees over 25 full time employees and a fleet of 10 glass trucks. Along the way Two Rivers Glass has completed several significant and recognizable projects such as Bob Brown Chevrolet, West Glen Town Center, Grays Lake Bridge, Meredith Test Garden Fountain, Karl Chevrolet, Plymouth Place Window Replacement, and the Bedell Residence on Lake Okoboji. As Two Rivers Glass continues to grow, we are very thankful to our loyal customers and vendors for their long term relationships.
